Chef Sakurai Tadatsugu’s journey into the culinary world

was inspired by his father, a chef on a cruise ship who later ran his own restaurant.


While pursuing a vocational education in science, Chef Sakurai discovered his true calling in baking, finding parallels between science and the art of breadmaking.


The organic, transformative nature of bread from simple ingredients to a living creation ignited his passion and defined his career.

Recently relocating from Japan to Redondo Beach, California,

Chef Sakurai is excited to lead Bread, Espresso &’s first U.S. location.


With over 15 years of experience, his creations are a testament to his dedication

to quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction.
